Overview The project began with an in-depth research into the work and visual language of Paolo Sorrentino, an Italian film director known for his distinctive cinematic style.

The aim was to transform the research into an 8–12 page editorial publication, carefully considering typography, hierarchy, layout, navigation and pagination.

The design needed to balance the richness of the subject with a clear and engaging reading experience.

 Monography
What is it ?

A monograph is a detailed, comprehensive study focusing on a single, specific topic. It is a type of scholarly or literary work that centers on the investigation, analysis, and description of a particular theme, issue, or problem. Monographs are often written by experts in a given field and serve the purpose of in-depth exploration of the chosen subject

Summary

The project explored how research, editorial structure and typography can transform complex content into a clear and engaging publication. Working with Sorrentino’s cinematic language allowed me to experiment with composition and visual storytelling while maintaining a strong focus on readability, information hierarchy and editorial consistency. The final monograph combines a structured reading experience with a more expressive approach to editorial design.
