Overview Unveiled Art was an academic design project developed during my studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź. The project explored a new visual direction for Oslo Open, an artist-run cultural event that opens artists’ studios to the public. The aim was to create a distinctive visual identity that reflected the event’s openness and connection between artists and audiences.

The concept  The concept was built around the idea of opening doors — a simple visual metaphor for giving the public access to artists, their studios and their creative process. This idea became the foundation for the logo and was extended into the poster and other visual applications.

My role I developed the creative direction, logo concept and visual communication, including the promotional poster and supporting applications. The project involved researching the event and its existing identity, developing the visual concept and translating it into a coherent set of graphic materials.

Visual language The identity combines bold colour, clean typography and a simple geometric form to create a contemporary and approachable visual language. The same visual idea was carried through the logo and poster, creating a consistent connection between the event’s identity and its communication.

Logo redesign and promotional poster design

Step 1 Research & Concept I began by researching Oslo Open and its existing visual identity, although the project was not commissioned by the organisation itself. Based on this research, I developed a concept for a new logo. The concept was built around the idea of open doors, symbolising access to artists’ studios and the opportunity to discover their work. A contemporary colour palette and clean typography were chosen to create a distinctive, legible and approachable identity.

Step 2 Visual Communication I developed a poster designed to capture attention while communicating the essence of the event. The idea of open doors from the logo was carried into the poster, creating a visual connection between the identity and its communication. Vibrant colours helped express the energy, openness and creative character of Oslo Open.

Summary

What i learned Although this was an academic project and was not commissioned by Oslo Open, it gave me an opportunity to develop my skills in research, concept development and visual communication within the context of a real cultural event. The project allowed me to explore how a simple visual concept can be translated across different formats — from logo to poster — while maintaining a clear and coherent visual identity.
